SALLY OSWALD is a playwright, librettist, editor, and advocate for adventurous new writing. Clubbed Thumb (New York) produced her play VENDETTA CHROME in Summerworks 08, and her text for Dan Hurlin’s new show about outsider photographer Mike Disfarmer will premiere at St. Ann’s Warehouse (Brooklyn) in February 2009. Other work has been developed or presented at the Bryant Lake Bowl, the Foundry, New Georges, The Flea, New Georges, The Ontological-Hysteric Theater, St. Ann’s Warehouse Puppet Lab, Little Theater at Tonic, and Dixon Place, among others. Honors include a Jerome Fellowship from the Playwrights’ Center, a Thurber House residency at OSU, a Dramatists Guild Fellowship, and residencies at the MacDowell Colony and Millay Colony. She holds an MFA from Brown, publishes Play A Journal of Plays and Device with Jordan Harrison, and is originally from Philadelphia.
