Hi Joe,
Thank you so much for your interest in the Gerding Theater at the Armory! Portland Center Stage, the theater company that exclusively performs at the Armory, produces ten productions each season. Many of these productions are musicals or have musical aspects to them (for example, our current production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream features 488 sound cues and original music specifically created for the production).
Throughout the year, the Armory is sometimes rented out to other companies for conferences, recitals, ceremonies and musical performances.
We also often feature live music in our Armory cafe or in the lobby that is free and open to the public. For example, we often feature children’s choirs in the lobby, before PCS performances, throughout the holiday season. And this weekend we will be featuring six different musicians and bands at our 25th Anniversary Open House. More information about that event can be found here: http://www.pcs.org/blog/item/open-house/
Again, thanks for your interest! We hope to see you here soon.
- Kinsley Suer, PCS
Do you folks ever do live music at any of the Armory venues? It says so here:

And i think you’d be doing a service to yourselves and the community.
Thank you!
