Umpqua Private Bank takes leading role as the newest PCS Corporate Champion

Umpqua Private Bank, a division of Umpqua Bank, has joined Portland Center Stage in demonstrating that “art is good business” by becoming the organization’s top corporate sponsor. The Presenting Sponsorship will underwrite three 2010/2011 season productions and expand opportunities for both organizations to engage with the community and contribute to the larger cultural conversation of Portland.
In a time where arts organizations and non-profits as a whole have been hit hard with reduced sponsorship income, the increased support of Umpqua is manifesting the optimism forming in the marketplace. They set the bar high as they join other corporate champions like Key Bank and the Standard.
“Umpqua Bank has been a longtime supporter of Portland Center Stage and we are pleased to further promote and encourage the enrichment of art within the greater Portland area through this sponsorship,” said Ray Davis, president and CEO of Umpqua Bank. “Umpqua Private Bank is committed to bringing cultural experiences to the communities we serve and we are proud to work with such a noteworthy organization to achieve this goal.”
“We are so grateful for the deepened commitment Umpqua Private Bank has made in support of our 2010/2011 season,” explains Portland Center Stage Artistic Director Chris Coleman, “And we look forward to this opportunity to build upon our two organizations’ shared values of neighborhood engagement and community building.”
