Just curious for a description/caption to the photo? Was this an auction/fundraiser within PCS?

Thanks for asking. This is a picture from the 2007 PCS Gala last April during the auction/paddle raise, which netted $417,000!

From the department of truth in advertising, although it appears that everyone wanted to bid on one item in this picture, it was taken while the auctioneer (the amazing Graham Crow) was getting everyone loosened up with a “practice paddle raise.”

And to take even greater advantage of this special day, you should check out WWEEK’s Give!Guide.

There are all kinds of benefits to giving through the guide, especially for the under-35 crowd and WWEEK gives additional cash bonuses to the most popular beneficiaries.

While PCS is not represented, our friends at Third Rail Rep, Literary Arts, p:ear and Ecotrust are in the guide as well as tons of other amazing Portland orgs, all of which need your love in this season of giving.
