There is definitely a buzz charging through the building as Sometimes A Great Notion moves toward opening night. The cast moved onto the set on Saturday (4 days early???? Why doesn’t that happen on MY shows?) And this morning they began focusing the lights.
As you can see, the set is a jagged series of platforms, steps and beams that sore above the actors’ heads. Climbing around on it, you actually get the sensation that you’re hiking up one of the ridges of the Cascades.
The work this morning was about securing the safety of the actors as they begin to traverse the different levels.
This is the view from the top platform. A little scary for the actors, but also pretty cool.
This is Tony Cisek, the Set Designer (also the designer for A Feminine Ending). Tony is based in Washington, D.C. and hates having his picture taken.
Bradford is our new Concierge. He also doubles as an intern for our Development Department.
And since its Wednesday, the Tai Chi class was on the mezzanine at noon. Come join them!
