I haven’t really been a practicing illustrator since…third semester at university. But we had to whip out this postcard promo super-quickly (kinda like always). It’s a knockoff of a 1976 cover of The New Yorker — marketing maestro Cynthia Fuhrman came up with the idea — depicting Portland Center Stage as the center of the theater world. For the turn-around time, I think it turned out pretty good. Even Mead Hunter likes it.
Oh, and the promo is for a Broadway at Home series that you can get by calling 503.445.3700 or stopping by the Box Office; it including Guys & Dolls, The Importance of Being Earnest, Frost/Nixon and Grey Gardens. If you’re into the big Broadway plays, this is a great deal.
