Join our Photo Scavenger Hunt in honor of the opening of R. Buckminster Fuller: THE HISTORY(and Mystery) OF THE UNIVERSE.

On Saturday October 18th at noon we will post 10 clues for Portland-related Bucky phenomena right here and on our Flickr group.

Your mission will be to be among the first 20 teams to post to this group a complete photo set of 10 things in around Portland, Oregon corresponding to the 10 clues in the Buckyhunt (one photo per clue).

We will choose 3 photo sets that are:

A. the most beautiful photos
B. the most innovative solutions to the clues
and
C. the most fun.

WHAT YOU’LL WIN: The top three teams will win Dinner in the Pearl and tickets to the show (for your whole team!) plus your winning photoset posted to our blog for the world to enjoy.

We will also choose a top photo for each clue from the total pool of entries to receive a Dymaxion Excellence Award (aka a pair of tickets to a PCS show). So even if you can’t complete all ten clues by the deadline you could still win by uploading what you got.

Please note: The photo pool will not close until Monday October 27th at 5 pm, so you’ll want to balance getting the pictures done fast with getting your best pictures submitted. You have a week. Make the most of it.

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

1. You’ll need a team (from 2 to 6 people).

2.You’ll need to have a digital camera and a way to upload pictures to the internet.

3. You will need to have an account on the Flickr photo-sharing site. Its free and only takes a few minutes to set up. There’s a “How To” guide here. Once you have a Flickr account, you’ll want to join our Bucky Scavenger Hunt Group right here.

4. Someone from your team must be in each photo. This is to keep people from doing some lame google image search and submitting someone else’s pictures. Get out into meatspace people. That’s the idea. However, creativity counts, so how you include yourself in the photo is up to you.

5. Name your team. One of the photos you submit should be a picture of your team in or around the Armory (128 NW 11th).

6. Submitting and tagging the photos: As you upload each photo to the group, please name and “tag” your photos with “Buckyhunt Team ‘insert team name here’ clue 1,” “Buckyhunt ‘insert team name here’ clue 2,” etc. so that our voters can more easily sort the items. Your team photo should be named “Buckyhunt Team ‘insert team name here’ Key Photo”.
So if I’m on “Team Synergetics,” I would tag my photos “Buckyhunt Team Synergetics clue 1.”

Your submissions will be voted on by the entire Portland Center Stage staff. We’ll announce the winners on our blog on Friday October 31st.
