Frenching the Bones is usually a culinary term, in which excess fat is removed from the lamb bones to clean them up before cooking. However, in this case I’m talking about the stage reading entitled Frenching the Bones, which will be put on by Portland Center Stage’s PlayGroup at CoHo Theatre (2257 NW Raleigh, Portland OR) tonight, Tuesday, October 30, 2007 — 8 PM. And it’s Free!
PlayGroup is a writing group, lead by our very own Mead Hunter that meets every other week to talk about their writing, share their new work, ask for feedback, and generally be of support to one another.
For this collaborative project, each playwright choose a course out of a hat and then wrote a short play about that food and added a dash of horror. Tis the season!
Directed by Matthew B. Zrebski, with stage directions voiced by Virginia Belt.
The playwrights include William S. Gregory, Hunt Holman, Althea Hukari, Shelly Lipkin, Ellen Margolis, Steve Patterson, Patrick Wohlmut, Nick Zagone and Matthew B. Zrebski.
The cast includes Sharon Mann, Chris Murray, Gary Norman and Cecily Overman.
We are indebted to OREGON CULTURAL TRUST for supporting the work of PlayGroup, and to COHO PRODUCTIONS for providing us with a place to perform as a way of encouraging original playwriting.
Hope to see you there.
