Thanks for answering my request to post "running times" of the shows. Where do I find the "main page for each play" that you refer to?

Thanks.

Thanks for the note Freddi. Run time is a bit of a moving target all the way up to opening night. We do try to post that on the main page for each play as soon as the production team can be pretty confident about it. Until the cast and crew have a chance to run through the show on stage with the set and props, run time can vary as much as 15 minutes either way...because earlier in the rehearsal stage it's hard to say how long it will take to interact with a set piece in a way the director is happiest with. Add to that potential late starts and slightly variable intermissions and an estimate could be 20+ minutes off. So, that's our hesitation in posting approximate run time earlier. That said, you're not the first to mention it, and we want you to be able to plan your evening successfully and avoid uncertainty as much as possible, so...with the caveat that it may not be extremely accurate, I'll try to get an estimate up sooner moving forward.

It would be very helpful if you would post the approximate running time of your performances (and intermission times)on your brochures and/or website. Many of us need to plan meals and the rest of our day around performance times and I always have to call to get the information.
Thanks

A Christmas Carol is running approximately 2 hours, including intermission. I'll add that to the play page now for the benefit of others. Thanks for helping us improve the new site!

Where do I find the running time for the current show? It's not apparent on the Christmas Carol page. Thanks,

Not sure who designed your site but they did not create a very good user experience. A main nav would help tremendously. I found it frustrating moving from page to page by clicking on the logo. I like the performances listed on the upper but it would be more useful to have only the ones you can actually buy tickets to--not the past ones. Maybe think about creating an archive?

This website is too busy and has a very scattered design look. Its also loaded with information that i am not interested in. I have a life. if i want to be entertained i'll go elsewhere. I come to buy tickets and i want that process to be as easy as possible. you make that difficult because i can never remember my log in info and so the whole system rejects my purchase. Who needs to log in to spend money? After 15 minutes i always leave empty handed and having to call the box office. Please remember first and foremost your a business.

Hi Karen,

This is something we'd like to be able to do, but I don't have instructions for you yet. So, for now, it seems you'll need to come back and check on the blogs from time to time. We realize we're about two years behind the curve on that but we're curious and motivated, so we'll catch up. Open to any help you can offer too!

Kethry,

This sort of feedback is extremely valuable. We're kicking around a couple of solutions for making the "now on stage" show(s) more salient, so stay tuned. I hope we can strike a more effective balance for folks with your perspective as we move forward. The interactive elements and the transparency that the new site brings are important to how we view our role in the community, but omg, yes, we want you to know what's on stage!

Thank you both for taking the time!

I found that after looking at your site and closing it, I couldn't tell someone what play you were currently producing. To me, for a theatre, that is just bad marketing. Your site is so busy I hardly knew where to look, and your plays (what I'm assuming is the main focus of your organization) are lost in a sea of other similar text and boxes.

I'm sorry, but this redesign seems more like a MySpace page than a page where people can see what is going on at PCS.
