Bust out your digital camera: it’s time for a Bucky-themed photo scavenger hunt!
We’ve heard about these and always wanted to try one. Its like a regular scavenger hunt except that instead of collecting things, you collect cool photos that match the clues and then upload them to a contest website. We’re using Flickr for ours.
It’s totally free to participate, and we hope it will give you an opportunity to consider some of the amazing contributions Buckminster Fuller has made to Portland while also having fun creating some great highly sustainable art.
Here’s the deal: on Saturday October 18th at noon we’ll post a list of ten clues for things to photograph in Portland that embody Bucky’s design philosophy. Winner will be chosen on a combination of speed, creativity and beauty of the photographs.
The contest will close on Monday October 27th at 5 pm, so you have about a week to compile your entry- but be warned- speed is a factor- only the first twenty complete submissions will be considered for the grand prizes. Not in the top twenty? Submit anyway- if one of your clue photos is the most beautiful for that clue you could win a Dymaxion Excellence award (a pair of tickets to see R. Buckminster Fuller: THE HISTORY (and Mystery) OF THE UNIVERSE.)
