Last week I traveled to NY with Storm, James and the band.  Elan McCallister (original producer for Rent and Hairspray) had arranged our trip as a showcase for potential producers in Manhattan.

Storm and the boys performed a showcase of sorts at Joe’s Pub (the music venue at the Public Theater named for legendary founder, Joseph Papp).

The Public

The exterior of the building is under renovation, so that coupled with the cold, rainy weather made the place feel like Berlin.  But once you got inside, Storm made it feel like Berlin in the 30’s.

She is always wonderful, but she was just on fire that evening:  focused, hypnotic, hilarious, riveting.

Keep your fingers crossed that we get a committment for the show’s future soon.

The whiz kids at Sockeye Creative teamed up with Storm Large to make this vigantic video for the song “8 Miles Wide,” a very singalong-able favorite from Crazy Enough.

Only a few seats remain for the August dates, and the show must close August 16.  So hurry — you’ll want to sing this one live, with Storm and 199 of your closest friends. Well, they will be, after you’ve seen Crazy Enough with them.
