Portland Center Stage has ticket packages and pricing to suit every schedule and budget. While season ticket packages offer the best deals and the greatest flexibility (free exchange, select your seats, etc.), we know that subscribing isn't the best option in all cases. For some, purchasing tickets on a show by show basis is the way to go, and we have a variety of pricing options to choose from, based on everything from the day of the week you attend to seating preferences to discounts for young people and students. And if you have a group of ten people or more, and want to come to a show together, our group rates offer incredible savings.
Below we've given you a lot of information about the various ways we invite you to attend Portland Center Stage. As always, if you have any questions or need assistance in determining what ticket options work best for you, please call our box office at 503-445-3700 (open noon to 5:30 pm seven days a week).
Season tickets: PCS subscribers
As a subscriber, you always enjoy the best seats in the house and these seats will be yours for as long as you continue to renew your annual subscription to Portland Center Stage.
Why subscribe? How often have you seen an ad or heard from a friend that there is a great event in town, and say to yourself, "I'm going to that!" Only to have a week or two pass and then you realize you missed it completely?
Season ticket holders have assured themselves that they won't miss a single production they know they want to see--and are often thrilled with the surprise of seeing something they didn't know much about!
You've guaranteed yourself 6 or 8 or 10 nights out in the coming year, but with ultimate flexibility on scheduling. We know that PCS subscriber are busy and that despite best plans sometimes schedule conflicts arise. Season ticket holders get ultimate attendance flexibility--you can exchange your ticket for another performance of the same play, as late as 3 hours prior to your originally scheduled time, with no penalty. Last minute changes in your schedule don't mean you have to miss the show!
Subscribers also save not only on their season tickets, but on any additional tickets they purchase throughout the season, for family, friends or as gifts.
And to make sure you don't miss one moment of our exciting season, we'll send you our free email Virtual Valet a few days prior to your performance, updating you on details about the production and reminding you of your reservation, with plenty of time to make changes if your plans have changed.
Seating is first come, first served so the sooner you buy, the better your seats.

Seating
The Main Stage (for the seating chart click here) is located on the street level of the Gerding Theater at the Armory and seats 599; The Ellyn Bye Studio, which is located two floors below ground, seats 200 and has a flexible seating plan which may change from play to play. Both theaters are wheelchair accessible. To find out the seating arrangement for a specific Ellyn Bye Studio production, contact the Box Office at 503-445-3700.
With a fixed seating configuration, seating in the Main Stage is reserved at the time you purchase your subscription or single tickets. Because the seating in the Ellyn Bye Studio is flexible, and changes configuration and capacity based on the specific production, your ticket reserves you a place for a specific performance, but not for a specific seat. To honor our season subscribers, who choose to purchase an entire season at once, there is a subscriber-only seating period when the house opens for the Ellyn Bye Studio, at one half hour prior to showtime. The subscriber-only seating period is generally 15 - 20 minutes long. At the end of that time, all ticket holders will have access to seating in the Studio.
With its intimate size and acoustics, we believe that all seats in the Studio are good! The advance seating period for subscribers is one way of saying “thank you for subscribing.”

Ticket specials
Portland Center Stage has a wide range of ticket prices available, based on day of the week and seating section, as well as bargains for students and young people. Those prices are available in season packages as well as on individual tickets per show. So be sure to check out all dates and options when searching for tickets online or talking to the box office. Some things you may want to know about tickets at Portland Center Stage:
- Season tickets offer the best deals with the most flexibility and a menu of "perks." If you're interested in as few as four shows in the season, call our box office about season ticket options.
- When it comes to individual show tickets, the earlier you purchase your seats, the better pricing you'll be guaranteed. Subscribers get the best deals, and the first opportunity at choice of seating. And we offer incentive pricing to those who purchase their single tickets early as well; prices may increase as tickets become scarcer. Single tickets for all shows go on sale on September 1 to the general public.
- If you are seeking the deepest discount, and you're willing to take the chance on availability of tickets and don't have a strong seating preference, you may want to try our "Rush" option. If a performance isn't sold out, at a few minutes before curtain time and at the discretion of box office management, a few tickets may be available for "Rush" purchase at $20.00 per ticket.
- If you've waited too long to reserve your tickets, and you really want to see a sold out show, try "Standby." When a performance is sold out, starting at 90 minutes prior to curtain we will sell Standby tickets, at regular prices, for that performance. Should any tickets be returned prior to showtime, or should any of our ticketing patrons not show up for their seats, you will be admitted to the theater. If by showtime we have no seating available for you, we will refund your ticket price. A limited number of Standby tickets will be sold per performance, so early arrival is advised.
Signing up for our enewsletter is a great way to stay informed on any special offers on tickets, which we make available from time to time. You'll also receive updated information on performances, invitations to events at PCS, and even special offers from our partner organizations around town.
