The Eat Me Machine

Posted by Alice Hodge | 21 July 2015

The Eat Me Machine is an interactive edible art installation. It provides an exciting way to devour delicious decedent desserts, packaged in reusable glass jars, while experiencing Portland art. There will also be art for sale in the vending machine. This month's featured artists are Mari Navarro and Leda Zawacki. The Eat Me Machine will be housed in the lobby of the Gerding Theater at the Armory during the theater season; it is available to travel for the summer until the PCS season begins on September 12. Please contact EatMeDessertsPdx.com for rental inquiries

The Dessert Artist:

Denise is the owner and operator of Eat Me Desserts. “I have been baking professionally in Portland for over 14 years. After a lovely review of a treat I made, I was inspired to start my own dessert company last year. I believe that dessert is an exquisite present to one’s self and should be indulgent and fabulous. To help eliminate yucky plastic containers, my yummy creations are packaged in reusable glass jars.” Learn more about Denise and her journey at eatmedessertspdx.com.

This month’s featured Eat Me Machine artists:

Artists Mari Navarro and Leda Zawacki co-own Gallery Mini in downtown Portland at the Everett Street Galleries. Mari is a figurative/portrait painter. Her creative process is very intuitive and emphasizes line and color. Leda is a comic book artist and illustrator. Together they have made small archival prints and hand-made one inch buttons for the Eat Me Desserts vending machine.
