TV Pilot Writing with Joey Slamon
A pilot is more than jokes and action, it is about building a world that the viewer wants to keep watching. By working on a logline for your project and giving you tips for how to turn that logline into a script, this class will cover basic techniques for outlining, writing, revising and selling your show. We will also discuss tone, characters and how to edit your idea to get the most out of your script. Participants should come with an idea for a show that they want to develop.

Joey Slamon worked as a Co-Producer on Season 4 of Arrested Development and Seasons 1-2 of the TruTV show Those Who Can't, for which she also wrote two episodes. She has held various positions on the production crews of a variety of shows and movies, including writers assistant on 10 episodes of Arrested Development and personal assistant to Executive Producer Erica Huggins on J. Edgar and Restless. Joey is currently working on an upcoming show for Starz called Trapped, co-produced with Mila Kunis and Rob Zombie. The show "takes place over a single night in the home of a wealthy family under attack by a murderous cult."
