My 12-year-old son and I loved Jacobs' presentation and have recommended the production to many. As a long-time admirer of Fuller's work, I thought the performance was an interesting way to introduce new fans to Bucky and provide some context for Mr. Fuller's contributions to design, science, architecture and society on the whole.

As an on-going series, we've been posting essays from designer and writer, Byron Ferris. These essays were written for the NORTHWEST insert feature published in The Oregonian newspaper in 1984-85. The most recent posting recounts Mr. Ferris' thoughts about Oregon's then-growing Silicon Forest and his assumptions about how Buckminster Fuller might view our own center of technology. You'll find that post here: http://pinch.nu/bespoke/

Buckminsters experience with suicide was very similar to my own. I have not found another person able to relate with it. The message that Fuller got was as specific to him as mine was to me. I got a new appreciation for my own. I believe that the experience was so powerful that I have remained on track ever since that day. Thanks for another level of understanding.
