India is a country rich in color, texture and culture – and beautiful music.  Portland Center Stage is pleased to welcome DJ Anjali as part of the 2010 Hooray for Bollywood Annual Gala.  Here is a little background on DJ Anjali from her website:

Since her Portland club debut in 2000, DJ Anjali has existed as the city’s primary advocate (and dance missionary) for the many varied electronic sounds of the South Asian diaspora, from UK Bhangra and Bollywood to Desi beats.  Well known as a dancefloor instigator she is equally confident throwing down grime, hiphop, ragga/dancehall, dubstep & dnb. You can check her out at one of her Portland party originals ANDAZ & ATLAS every month … where she shares the stage with The Incredible Kid & E3 (respectively.)

Replacing those three shows we will be adding Josh Kornbluth’s Benjamin Franklin: Unplugged, Mike Schlitt’s Mike’s Incredible Indian Adventure and the just added remount of Rose Riordan’s runaway hit show The Receptionist. The Chosen, originally scheduled for the studio season, will move upstairs to the Main Stage.
