Please join us for a pre-show Happy Hour featuring a conversation with Redwood playwright Brittany K. Allen and Redwood director, Chip Miller. The conversation will include details about the development of the play and how the set design informs the overall story. Complimentary food and wine while supplies last, so arrive early!

About Brittany K. Allen

Brittany K. Allen is a Brooklyn-based playwright, prosewright, actor, and library goblin. Her plays include Redwood (World Premiere: Portland Center Stage, Fall 2019; Upcoming Productions: Jungle Theater, Spring 2020; Ensemble Studio Theatre, Spring 2020; The Mix 2018, Kilroys List 2017, nominated for the Stavis Award), More Than You Can Chew, and The Late Greats, among others. Her work has been developed at Manhattan Theatre Club, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Kansas City Repertory Theater, The Public Theatre, and the Lark Play Development Center. She is currently under commission from Manhattan Theatre Club/Sloun Foundation, and Playwrights Horizons.

Brittany is a current member of both Youngblood, the Obie-award-winning young playwrights collective at Ensemble Studio Theatre, and the Emerging Writers Group at the Public Theatre. She was a 2017 Van Lier Playwriting Fellow at the Lark, and her art life has received recent support from SPACE on Ryder Farm (Artist Residency, 2017) and the Sewanee Writers Conference, where she is a recurring staff-member.
