Fall Teen Academy: Improvisation
PCS Improvisation specialist, Andy Perkins, is offering his very popular improvisation classes to Teen Academy this Fall! Through fun games, acting lessons, and spontaneous character creation these classes will unlock your inner creative genius and give you the chance to get out of your comfort zone in a fun and safe environment.
These are individual sessions rather than a series. Registrants can sign up for just one or for both sessions!
Andy is an actor, improviser, and teaching artist from Kansas City, MO. He earned his BFA from Avila University and his MFA from Purdue University. Since then he has performed at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre, the Coterie Theatre, the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, the Kansas City Black Rep, and Spinning Tree Theatre. As an improviser he has traveled to perform in Chicago, Detroit, San Diego, Indianapolis, Houston, and Baltimore with his comedy duo Snooze Button. While teaching, Andy focuses on creating a safe environment where students are able to push themselves creatively and discover their own unique voice.

THEM is Palestinian playwright Samah Sabawi's gripping drama about war, refugees, and survival. This production stars Portland-based actor Dré Slaman and features live Middle Eastern music by Acoustic Pilgrims. This production is a poignant exploration of the terrible choices people are forced to make every day in war zones everywhere.
Anonymous Theatre Company presents POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive
Anonymous Theatre is unlike any other evening at the theatre. The cast will bring this bawdy and irreverent comedy to life … while meeting one another for the first time! The actors and the audience alike will experience the story together for the first time.
Pitch Black Showcase
Pitch Black Showcase returns to Portland for a one-night celebration of Black ideas and brilliance. Experience powerful live pitches from Black founders, makers, and creatives sharing the ideas they’re building, dreaming of, and fighting for. This isn’t a competition. It’s a stage for possibility. The evening will also feature live music by local Black artists, Local Black maker tables, themed drinks, and a chance to meet the founders and connect with the community.
