Can a lightweight, has-been talk show host lead the most infamous political figure of his time to publicly acknowledge his guilt? That is the central question raised in Peter Morgan’s delicious drama about a series of televised interviews that former president Richard Nixon granted British journalist David Frost in 1977. The New York Times described the play as “proceed[ing] with the momentum of a ticking-bomb thriller and the zing of a boulevard comedy…structured as a prize fight between two starkly ambitious men in professional crisis, Frost/Nixon makes it clear that the competitor who controls the camera reaps the spoils.”

Frost/Nixon runs 1hour and 45 minutes with no intermission.

I’m trying to find the running time for Crazy Enough and Frost/Nixon. Why can’t you just list this on the web site! So easy – I have difficulty finding the time to call during the day and by the time I am home, your box office is closed. WHY CAN’T YOU DO THIS!!!

The running time for Frost/Nixon won’t be determined until the show is open (they are still making minor changes to the production that could impact the running time). We will post it at that time. Our apologies that the running time for Crazy Enough is not posted on the site. We will make that correction and post it as soon as we have the information from the stage manager.

Still wondering about that Frost/Nixon running time.. I’m coming to see the show tomorrow (4/16) and trying to make plans based upon the run time. In the future perhaps a ballpark number with the caveat that it will be fine tuned during previews, please check back again? I do realize it’s impossible to please everyone.

Yes, to ditto an earlier comment, it would be so helpful to have the play’s total running time (including intermissions) posted ASAP, so that those of us who need to make/estimate childcare and transportation arrangements, etc., may do so.

I searched for quite a while until I found in small print in the ‘Packages’ Section what time the show starts. I think it’s a good idea to have this a more prominent piece of info., by the performance and in near the heading.
BTW. I’ve heard fantastic things about Frost/Nixon and looking forward to seeing it.

I attended a preview and was disappointed in the use of “pre-taping” for the interview portions of the play. Have you changed to a “live” camera now? If so, the play will be more enjoyable since the actors can be “in the moment” and not have to try to sync up with the projection.

None of the interview portions are or were pre-taped. The actors are being filmed live in the moment and their images are rebroadcast directly from the onstage cameras to the screen. The reason why you notice a delay (which may have made you feel that it was pre-recorded, because their lips don’t quite match up to the sounds you hear) is because it takes a moment for the signal to travel through the camera, through the cables to the projection equipment in order to be broadcast on the screen. That delay was slightly longer during first preview than it is now… our technicians were able to make some adjustments that help to minimize the delay.

If you’ve ever been in a working TV studio, you would note that there is a similar delay between what the newscasters say and what appears on the broadcast monitors. When we see TV studios depicted in movies, they are usually putting the digital image on the monitor in in “post” (aka after the fact), allowing them to retroactively sync the monitor image, sound and “live image” a bit better.

Come on back to the show and see how you feel about it knowing that the images you are watching are live and in the moment!

Thank you for the explanation–the delay was quite significant in the preview I attended. It was very distracting to not have the words and gestures of the actors onstage in sync with their images on the screen behind them. I’m glad that your technicians have rectified the problem.

I am very glad to have seen the Frost/Nixon play!

After seeing the film, which I enjoyed very much, it was great to see another interpretation of the events surrounding the Nixon interviews.

All I need to do now is watch the Frost/Nixon: The Complete Interviews and I will be a Frost Nixon expert!
