Join us for The People’s Poets 4th Annual Black History Month Showcase at Portland Center Stage. This event is a community centered celebration of local Black creatives. This Showcase will feature 9 spoken word poets, a dancer, a singer, and a live painter.
Special Screening: Hind Under Siege
Hind Under Siege is a short film based on a true story, depicting the harrowing phone call between the Red Crescent and six-year-old Hind Rajab, who becomes trapped in a car while hiding from the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The film captures Hind’s fear of the Israeli forces, her isolation, and her hope, while also portraying the courage, compassion, and determination of Rana Al-Faqih, the Red Crescent worker, and those who witness this desperate moment.
Slamlandia Presents: The 2026 Grand Slam!
Come on out for Slamlandia’s 2026 Grand Slam! This finals stage event is the culmination of the monthly Portland literary series Slamlandia’s 2025 - 2026 poetry slam season. The top 10 poets of the season will compete in this three round poetry slam to determine who will represent Slamlandia at local, regional, and national events for the following year. This show features a variety of poetry that ranges anywhere from high energy to introspective to political to heartfelt, but always passionate. Hosted by Christopher Diaz.
