PATA Presents: A Benefit Reading of Paul Rudnick's Jeffery
What happens when one in love is sure...and the other is positive? On December 1st (World AIDS Day) enjoy a staged reading of "Jeffery" by Paul Rudnick, presented by Portland Area Theatre Alliance & PCS.
Jeffrey is the up-lifting story of a gay man living in New York in the 1980’s. Jeffrey, decides to stop his sex-hungry ways and become celibate. However, right afterwards, he ends up falling in love with the perfect guy, Steve, at the gym. But not only has Jeffrey just pledged celibacy, Steve is HIV-positive. He seeks aid from his older friend Sterling, and he ends up realizing the importance of love.
We have three main objectives.
First, to foster the further development of theatre in the Portland Metro Area.
Second, to connect the Portland Metro area theatre community to each other.
And finally, to provide and maintain programs that support our community theatre makers.
We accomplish these objectives through our programming, our regularly updated resources and our online database of theatre makers.
PATA was formed in 1987 by representatives of several Portland theatre companies. PATA is currently governed by an all-volunteer board, with a focus on supporting both theatre companies and individual theatre artists.
Portland Center Stage is committed to identifying & interrupting instances of racism & all forms of oppression, through the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, & accessibility (IDEA).
