Space, Plants & Donuts!
Join us at our free pre-show event on November 29th for hands on presentations from Portland Carnivorous Plants & Rose City Astronomers! Learn about solar eclipses, extra terrestrial life, hungry plants..and heck..have a donut while you do it! And of course, make sure to catch our 2PM matinee of Little Shop of Horrors.
Portland Carnivorous Plants has been owned and operated since
2022 by Andy Newton. Formerly located near SW Portland and
unexpectedly recently moved to eastern Oregon, Portland Carnivorous
Plants is a niche micronursery focusing primarily on Sarracenia (North
American Pitcher Plants) and other easy-to-grow carnivorous plants.
Outside of carnivorous plant cultivation, Andy works in public
defense, and he is conflicted on whether he could take a case
involving poached carnivorous plants. Plants can be found and
purchased at our website at https://portlandcplants.com/
Mike Grabner is the VP of Outreach & Education for the Rose City Astronomers (RCA). He joined RCA in 2018 and enjoys sharing the wonders of the night (and day) sky with others. RCA was formed in 1988 as an organization of amateur astronomers dedicated to the promotion, education and enjoyment of astronomy among its membership and the general public. To support that goal, the RCA sponsors a variety of activities for its membership and the general public that are geared to family participation and focused on low or no cost so that all can afford to participate. In all cases, members volunteer their time, their own personal equipment, and cover their own personal expenses to put on a variety of activities. We are a 501(C3) non-profit public benefit organization. For more information please visit https://www.rosecityastronomer.
