Live Sketch Artists for Earth Without Borders/Tierra Sin Fronteras

We invited local comic artists to watch Earth Without Borders/Tierra Sin Fronteras and draw whatever inspired them about the experience. Here are the results!

Julian Narino

Julian is an Annie-nominated storyboard artist. He has worked in film and television on projects such as Coraline, ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings,Bumblebee, Adventure Time (short), We Bare Bears, and more.


Naomi Rubin

Naomi makes comics and illustrations in Portland, Oregon. She writes and draws “Moonsprout Station,” a queer fantasy comic about relationships and tough feelings on an island where magic will hang out with you, if you let it. She's done comics for Erika Moen's "Oh Joy Sex Toy," and Pueblo Unido PDX - a non profit that helps immigrants who are facing deportation and detention. She does talks and panels about trans representation in comics and is starting to make art videos. You can support all her work at patreon.com/naomirubin.


Tim Timmerman

Tim has been a practicing artist for over 30 years and has exhibited widely in galleries in the northwest and nationally including the Portland airport. He is a professor of art at George Fox University in Newberg, leads men’s experiential weekends, and creates a humorous podcast called “Roberta’s Pearls.” Tim is a Scottie owner, sojourner, curator, writer, goodness seeker, storyteller, collector, truth hound and a loyal uncle, brother and friend.
