SEARCH AND DESTROY (S.A.D.) is a multimedia variety show featuring dance and other artistic mediums where artists & local leaders share their craft and discuss what matters most to them while exploring ways in which we can better ourselves, our communities, and our relationships with each other. Through storytelling, live conversations, audience interaction, and heavy doses of honesty & humor, S.A.D. seeks to give hope and be an entertaining, informative space for all to have fun, let loose, and be reminded that we as people have the agency & ability to initiate change by working together. SEARCH AND DESTROY is a show for everyone; parental discretion is advised for audience members under 18 years of age.
Alexander Dones is an interdisciplinary artist from Portland, Oregon with an emphasis on dance. Throughout his travels he has had the opportunity to perform, choreograph, and collaborate with various companies and choreographers including MOMIX, Luna Negra Dance Theatre, ArtLab J, and others, and he continues to work with internationally-acclaimed choreographer Doug Elkins.
JAW New Play Festival FREE! July 24-26, 2026
A week-long assembling of artists and audiences to create new plays! Artistic teams, including playwrights, directors and actors, come together to rehearse — and a lot of times rewrite! — a play. The final piece of the process happens during the weekend, when we share “music stands readings” with audiences so the playwrights can hear their work, often for the very first time!
