If you're in the neighborhood, please come by The Armory between now and December 2021 to view this mural installation by artist Alex Chiu, as part of our ongoing mural series with Portland artists. For this mural, entitled "LIFT," we partnered with Alex Chiu, who said of the work, "I painted this image as a form of escape and release from the pressures and anxieties that bog me down. It is a pivot from the portrait work that I normally do. I hope it offers a feeling of optimism and levity to those who see it."

Painted on a wooden backdrop and standing at more than 10 feet tall, the mural, with its colorfully dynamic geometric background and striking image of a laughing thrush bird in flight, is installed on the large wooden doors of The Armory, on 10th Street.
