Come on out for Slamlandia’s 2026 Grand Slam!

This finals stage event is the culmination of the monthly Portland literary series Slamlandia’s 2025 - 2026 poetry slam season. The top 10 poets of the season will compete in this three round poetry slam to determine who will represent Slamlandia at local, regional, and national events for the following year. This show features a variety of poetry that ranges anywhere from high energy to introspective to political to heartfelt, but always passionate. Hosted by Christopher Diaz.

Ebo Barton comes from salt— from the moment before worlds converge. You may have seen Ebo's work in Natasha Marin's Black Imagination with audiobook read by Grammy award-winner Daveed Diggs, at The Seattle’s Sounders’ Lumen Field, and online on Button Poetry and All Def Poetry channels.  In poetry slam, placed 5th in the world at Individual World Poetry Slam in 2016 and along with team, TBD, placed 1st at the Bigfoot Regional Slam in Portland, Oregon in 2023.  A leader in arts and activism, he is committed to creating opportunities for others to organize, heal and rejoice.  Presently, Ebo is the Director of Housing Services at Lavender Rights Project, leading a permanent supportive housing property for BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and Secretary of the Filipino American National Historical Society Greater Seattle Chapter. 2020 Jack Straw Writing Fellow, Ebo Barton's written, performative and community work demand societal reckoning.
