October’s First Thursday will feature the opening for the Hard Feelings art installation by Angela Saenz and music by the Pablo Rivarola Trio. Pablo (trumpet player, composer, pianist, and bandleader) will be joined by bassist Nick Morrison, and drummer Anderson Donley. Taking influence from classic jazz, classical music, r&b, and modern pop, Pablo’s shows are always a soulful experience. Now he’s delighted to bring his trio to Portland Center Stage.

About Pablo Rivarola
About Pablo Rivarola

Seattle-born trumpet player, composer, pianist and bandleader, Pablo Rivarola has been playing music for as long as he can remember. Arriving in Portland in 2018, Pablo quickly made a name for himself as one of Portland's premier musicians to hear. With a combination of blinding ability on his horn and a warm, sensitive sound Pablo's playing has caught the attention of Portland's jazz and neo-soul heavyweights.

His compositions range from somber, thoughtful melodies with rich harmony, to burning swing, to infectious grooves. Whether he's playing trumpet and piano at the same time, or taking an acrobatic solo, Pablo always brings a unique sound that you don't want to miss. Currently, he is gearing up to release his debut record featuring a carefully curated selection of his best compositions.

Portland Center Stage is committed to identifying & interrupting instances of racism & all forms of oppression, through the principles of inclusion, diversity, equity, & accessibility (IDEA).
