Frida ... A Self Portrait Plot Summary

By Kamilah Bush, Literary Manager

Mexican painter Frida Kahlo was an iconic artist who led a difficult but stunning life. Written and performed by Vanessa Severo, Frida...A Self Portrait transports audiences to La Casa Azul, Frida’s home, and recounts her fabled life - sharing insights about her physical limitations, complex love life, addictions, and, of course, the beauty in her work and art. With music, movement and deep honesty, this searing play allows viewers to see into the heart of not only Frida, but also Vanessa, and maybe to touch the piece of themselves which is also strange and magical.
